Welcome to Hit or Miss: Ingredient Match ("the App", "we", "our", or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your personal information as you use our mobile app. Your trust is important to us, and we’re committed to safeguarding your data and being transparent about how we use it.
To access the app, users log in via Apple or Google. We may collect identifiers such as your email address, a unique user ID, and optionally your profile name. This information is used to authenticate your account and tailor your experience.
When you review a product—whether it worked for you or not—we store details like product IDs, your feedback, and associated ingredient data. This allows us to provide ingredient-level insights and help you discover what works for your skin.
We collect data on how you interact with the app—such as screen views, button taps, and session frequency—to better understand user behavior and improve the app. This may be collected via analytics tools like PostHog, and the data may be associated with your user ID or device ID to support personalized insights and performance analysis.
In the event of a technical issue, diagnostic information (such as error logs, crash traces, or device state) may be collected via tools like Sentry. This helps us resolve bugs and improve performance.
We store your recent searches (e.g., ingredient names or product titles) locally on your device to enhance your in-app experience. These are not transmitted to our servers unless used within personalized analysis. Even if retained locally, Apple may classify this data as “collected” for privacy purposes.
We work with third-party platforms such as Firebase and Supabase to power core app functionality like data storage, authentication, and analytics. These services only access your data to perform specific tasks and are contractually bound to protect your privacy.
We may share your information if required to comply with applicable laws, court orders, or lawful requests from government authorities.
In the case of a merger, acquisition, or other corporate transaction, your information may be transferred to a new owner. If so, we’ll notify you through the app or via email (if available) before any policy changes take effect.
